CCE : Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation refers to a system of school based evaluation of students that covers the holistic development of a student.
FA : Formative Assessment is a tool used by the teacher to continuously monitor students in a non-threatening, supportive environment. For example, classwork, quiz, experiments, Projects, Assignments, MCQs, Presentations, Field Tours, Model Making, Debates, Poster Making, Elocutions etc.
SA : Summative Assessment is carried out at the end of a course of learning. It measures or 'sums-up' how much a student has learned from the course. It is usually a graded test (Pen - Paper Test).
CCE is now divided into 3 parts :
Part I : Consists of the evaluation of scholastic attainments which will be reflected in the form of grades converted from the marks obtained. There will be 2 terms and each term will carry 2 formative and 1 summative assessment.
Grading will be done on a nine point scale given at the back of the report card.
Part II : consists of co-scholastic areas which has 2 groups :
(A)Life skills :
Life skills involves Thinking skills, Social skills and Emotional skills. This will be assessed on a 5 point grading scale ( given at the back of report card).
(B) Attitudes and Values :
>> Attitude towards Teachers, Schoolmates, School programmes, and environment will be assessed on a 3 - point grading scale.
>> Value system: Where universal values that need to be strengthened with in the school system and outside by teachers, parents and community will be assessed.
For example: Commitment, Respect, Honesty, Peace Loving nature, Attitude, Responsibility, etc. these will be assessed on a 3 point grading scale.
Part III : Consists of co-scholastic areas which again consists of 2 groups :
(A) Refers to Literary and Creative skills, Scientific skills, Aesthetic skills and Performing Arts, and Clubs (Eco, Health, Wellness Club, etc).
(B) Consists of 8 different kinds of activities.
1. Sports / indigenous sports (Kho Kho etc)
2. NCC / NSS
3. Scouting and Guiding
4. Swimming
5. Gymnastics
6. Yoga
7. First Aid
8. Gardening/Shramdam
